Nurse/Doctor report – for Shawna Morley – January 5th @ 6:30am: The breathing trial went well this morning. There is still some inflammation and she has a bad cough. They are going to hold off on fully removing the ventilation tube and try to continue the steroids for awhile. I am going back up at 8:30am after my Mens breakfast. Her actual doctor will reevaluate. They don’t want to take the ventilation tube out and have to put it back in if her throat is too swollen. I did talk to her, I ask her if she wants to get this out of her throat, she nodded yes to me. She’s remained very alert and responding back and forth by thumbs up squeezing and a now nodding her head yes and no. That’s a huge praise the Lord. Let’s just keep praying that the cough and swelling in her throat goes down so they can remove the ventilation. Then the hard task of having to tell her about Kevin not being with us.
