Jared Worby asks for more prayer

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Just a few lines to let you know that I got through the biopsy OK, and will get the results in 10 days.  I will need to be back to Arad on June 7 for that. But I know that man’s word is not the last word because it is the Lord who will have that in all of this. I am back home, and I will be going back to the tent in Slatina on Friday morning where the weather has changed for the better, which is bringing out more uncoverted people to the meetings.  I look forward to getting back.  Please say a little prayer for our trip as driving on the highways of Romania can be a little risky due to a few careless drivers.  God bless you and thank you very much for your prayers, and your kind thoughts.

Jared

I’m in need for prayers for my mother, my family, and for myself

I currently attend this church but I’m in need for prayers for my mother, my family, and for myself. Recently my mom’s liver failed because she’s been struggling a major addiction problem and on top of that she has cancer. She lives in Alaska and I just got back from going to see her in critical care. She was close to dying, when my family just prayed and prayed along with the help of others. She is currently out of the hospital and she’s getting better. But she still has cancer until she can get strong enough for more surgeries. My family needs prayers to be stronger through this and to be able to be there for her. I’m worried that she’s lonesome without anybody with her. I’m struggling to graduate a year early to go move with her. Please pray that my mother gets well and stays away from her addiction, and that Jesus is with her through all her struggles. Please also pray that my family gets through all this emotional stress and tension, and that we all have the strength to help her and each other in the best way possible. – Brooke F. – Springfield, OR

Prayer Update from Jared Worby

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The tent has been up in Slatina for more than a week by now.  It was amazing to see how many brothers came to help us set it up from the three participating churches.  We have had about 9 days of meetings which have been hindered by very unseasonable weather.  We have had much rain, and part of the tent has been flooded, which of course we had to deal with.  Nevertheless both converted and unconverted people have been attending.  We have also been going on the streets in four different points of the city to reach out to the people.  Each church has been participating in that, which for them is something new.  The believers are very encouraged by the fact that they are working together in this way for the first time in their history in Slatina.  I pray that it continues and gets deeper.  We still have about 3 weeks of meetings left so please continue to pray.  After Slatina we pray to be able to go to a big town called Piatra Olt where there is no evangelical church.  This is near Slatina so we will do this together with one particular church from Slatina.  Please pray as we will really need God’s help.  The mayor there was contacted by phone in order to set up a meeting to talk about permission.  He somehow knew about the tent in Slatina, and asked if the proposed meeting was about setting up the tent in Piatra Olt.  When he was told yes he immediately said – no problem, I give you right now my word that you will have permission and later we will see exactly where in the town.  I need to say that this area of Romania has been quite unresponsive to the gospel so his attitude is seen as something special.  So PTL for that.   Please continue to pray, that Satan will not get into this situation and that the mayor would change his mind until we can get the permission in writing!.

I am back in Arad in order to go into the hospital this evening to have a biopsy done on my prostate tomorrow, on Tuesday.  I want to thank you for all your prayers on my behalf.  I can feel them!  But please pray for specifically for this biopsy, if you would.  The pastors and churches in Slatina are continuing the evangelism.  I hope to go back by Friday.   God bless you all.
