Just wanted to send out a quick update before the newsletter and let you all know that this year has started off different! There is a different vibe in Chi Alpha this year. We are seeing miraculous growth in several of our returning students and about half of our group are those who don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus yet. We also have some international presence and want to ask you, or friends in prayer, to lift them up to God and ask for His Spirit to draw them to following Jesus. Please pray for Joe Gerber, house director for our Men’s discipleship home. He was mowing the church lawn and got his hands into the blade. He is at McKenzie Willamette Hospital right now.

My son Jacob recently found out that the woman he was planning to marry had been cheating on him. He reached out to God in his brokenness and has started, reading his Bible, praying, going to bible studies and was baptized. In the beginning of his coming back to the Lord, he really felt God speaking to him through His word but says he hasn’t felt that for a couple of weeks. He said that ever since he gave his life to God, he feels like God has abandoned him. I know this is an attack by Satan. Jacob has told me that he’s had suicidal thoughts at times and I know he is in a deep depression at the moment. Please pray for strength for him and that he will feel God’s presence in his life once again.

Sherry Griffith fell and broke her hip. She is at the hospital for surgery. Please pray for healing and wisdom for the doctors.

Please pray for my family. I am not really sure where to start. My son Jesse and I might be evicted from our home if we do not pay our rent by this Friday. I am at fault regarding this. My addiction has been taking priority over everything else. Jesse should not be suffering because of my errors. I can survive through any circumstances as I have done in the past, but my son is disabled. We are both Christians. – Nancy Webster

My Grandfather (John Wikene) had surgery on Friday to put a stint in his kidney today they did a blood transfusion he is not doing well and I would just like prayer for him. He knows the Lord and is strong in his faith. – Wesley Wikene

Prayer Request from Douglas: Would like prayer that God would give him the strength to overcome his addiction to drugs, alcohol, etc. He would also like prayer for his marriage. He is about to lose his wife. – Kaitlin Pederson
