With another line of spring fashion upon us, color blocking is proving that it is around for a while. \u00a0<!--more-->It is found in dresses like the one above where the designer incorporates multiple colors into the style. Or, like the outfits below where the wearer just puts two colors together and strikes a happy cord of color.<\/p>\n<p>Interior designers are bringing color blocking into their interiors as well. As a designer, it is a fun way to just finesse an exciting color into the room or a way to make relations between colors as an alternate to the traditional ways of finding a print that pulls of of your colors together.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1166\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1166\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1166 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/GreyWidgeon-52-of-116_3_2-1.jpg\" alt=\"MDI interior\" width=\"590\" height=\"450\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1166\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">MDI project, The Preserve<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This MDI interior shows a bit of both theories. The drapery fabric brings in a mess of greens, aquas and white. In lieu of repeating the print on the bed, Margaret chose to color block the euro shams with an aqua, white, lime and turquoise.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1165\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1165\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1165 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/GreyWidgeon-36-of-116_2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"393\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1165\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">MDI project, The Preserve<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Another MDI design&#8230;the bedside tables were custom designed to be a bit retro and to accommodate the contrast pink color block on the drawer fronts. There is also a blocking effect with the ottomans and the lumber pillow on the bed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1176 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/IMG_2310-381x500-1.jpg\" alt=\"Natural Curiosities Lamp\" width=\"381\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This lamp from market is a perfect illustration of color upon color. The choice of high gloss and ceramic makes the colors even more poignant. Upon seeing this style, we new that our office had to have one. This turquoise lamp sits on Delta&#8217;s desk and sets off the brown accent wall perfectly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1167 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Image-399x500-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some of our other favorite examples of bringing blocks of color into our designs&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1173 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/IMG_2237-500x381-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"381\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A subtle color block with linen pillows&#8230;it doesn&#8217;t have to be strong and bright.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1179 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/IMG_2440-500x500-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Contrast finishes on this pull-apart coffee table&#8230;sophisticated in the black and white or can&#8217;t you picture it in bright colors&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1174 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/IMG_2304-381x500-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"381\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All one color accessories&#8230;What an interesting display.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1170 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/IMG_1034-500x381-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"381\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Using an open lattice design over an accent wall is a great way to pop color but to not commit to buying a colorful piece of furniture.
