Guests love a\ndelightful powder room, so don\u2019t be afraid to be bold. At MDI, we love paying\nclose attention to the details of this very functional space. Here are some of\nour recent favorites:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Casual\nKiawah <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Casual-Kiawah-1600x2596.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7360\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the best\nfeatures of this <a href=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/portfolio\/casual-kiawah\/\">peaceful\npowder room<\/a> is the subtle visual energy of the\nombre tile. Notice how the pattern begins as a light grey at the top and\nchanges to dark grey with navy tones near the floor. The gold-toned fixtures\nand vessel sink are a nice contrast to the earthy marble and matte tile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Refined\nRetreat<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Refined-Retreat-1600x690.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7361\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a classic powder room <a href=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/portfolio\/refined-retreat\/\">with a pop of the unexpected<\/a>. We chose a glass-topped sink that automatically changes color when it\u2019s turned on. By keeping the rest of the room understated, we let this fun bit of new technology steal the show. Guests are always delighted and surprised when the sink is in party mode!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Relaxed\nRiver View<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Relaxed-River-View.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7362\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A map of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Charleston_Harbor\">Charleston harbor<\/a> turned into floor-to-ceiling wallpaper fits perfectly <a href=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/portfolio\/relaxed-river-view\/\">in this home<\/a> where the Kiawah River is the focal point. Local art and a beautiful piece of driftwood found nearby add rustic charm. A powder room is a great place to display your favorite pieces of art or artifacts that give your home a sense of place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kiawah\nClassic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Kiawah-Classic.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7363\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With its whimsical\nfish wallpaper, <a href=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/portfolio\/kiawah-classic\/\">this tiny\npowder room<\/a> has a big personality. A porthole\nmirror that suggests air bubbles compliments the motif. With its petite sink\nand sconce, this room surprises and delights visitors every time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Modern\nSullivan\u2019s<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Modern-Sullivans.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7364\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/portfolio\/modern-sullivans-island\/\">transitional\nrenovation<\/a> required a refined modern powder\nroom. The rest of the home is visually peaceful, so we added muted drama with\ngraduated taupe color blocks on the wall. The horizontal lines make the room\nfeel larger than it is while allowing the beautiful mirror and sconces to stand\nout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Classic\nCassique<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Classic-Cassique-1600x3694.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7365\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>No detail was overlooked in this <a href=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/portfolio\/classic-cassique\/\">traditional home on Kiawah Island<\/a>. Creamy seagrass wallpaper in a herringbone pattern adds subtle texture to walls while oversized tile complements the palette. A soapstone vessel sink sits atop a custom vanity in warm wood tones that compliment the tiles and floor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When designing your dream home or dream remodel, don\u2019t overlook the potential of the powder room.
