We’re excited to show you some photos and behind-the-scenes shots from our recent project, The Quay at Bishop Gadsden. Bishop Gadsden is a beautiful, thoughtfully-designed life care retirement center on James Island.\u00a0 The Quay (pronounced “K\u0113”) is a new collection of flats with open floor plans designed around gracious living and entertaining.<\/p>\n

We wanted to keep everything open and simple. After all, the natural light and gorgeous views out the large windows are really the stars of the show. We did use bright blue and yellow for pops of color, but the values are toned down so the room has energy without feeling busy.<\/p>\n

The common rooms are high-traffic areas so everything had to be durable (think grand kids running amok). This room is a testament to the fact that rooms can be functional and beautiful!<\/p>\n

Watching the building’s progress was so exiting. It was obvious right from the start that The Quay would be a beautiful property with a special personality.<\/p>\n

We always love wearing yellow vests and hard hats while we’re on site. They compliment any ensemble.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Haven’s Fine Framing<\/a> gave us a hand installing the art piece over the fireplace.<\/p>\n

At last, the project was finished and we couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out. The colors, textures, art and accessories refer to our spectacular Lowcountry surroundings. Clean lines on the furnishings and light fixtures walk the line between traditional and contemporary, giving the common rooms a youthful vibe.<\/p>\n

Here’s a sneak peak at one of the flats. The traditional furnishings are very Charleston, but they blend beautifully with the contemporary architecture of The Quay.<\/p>\n
