The Scout Guide is a beautifully curated magazine that illustrates the “best of local” in the various cities it covers with every issue. TSG chose Charleston for its 100th edition, and MDI was proud to be featured<\/a>, too. From the top local foodie spots to the best Charleston design, TSG covered it all<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Scout Guide was welcomed into both Margaret’s home and office. We’re so glad they wanted to include the whole MDI family in the photos, down to Margaret’s dog.<\/p>\n

The Scout launch party MDI recently attended was held at the Preservation Society. It seemed TSG thought of every detail, and we loved learning more about so many local businesses that the publication also chose to highlight. Here are 5 of the local gems showcased by TSG that in some way represent what can be found in the Charleston design world \u2014 besides MDI, of course!<\/p>\n

Original Charleston Bedswing
\n<\/a>Based in Mt Pleasant, Original Charleston Bedswing creates a unique way to hang out. You can custom-make your own bedswing, choosing everything like cushions, piping, paint color, size according to your ceiling height, and more. 2. Kistler Design Co. <\/a><\/p>\n

Creating high-end furniture for residential and commercial projects, Kistler Design Co. stays ahead of the competition by keeping its concepts simple but extraordinary. From tables to shelves to beds, it’s all bespoke and beautiful.<\/p>\n

3. Classic Remodeling & Restruction<\/a><\/p>\n

The folks at Classic Remodeling & Reconstruction helped remodeled Margaret’s kitchen, den, and more, so it was great for the MDI team to catch up with this John’s Island business. The firm specializes exclusively in residential remodeling and restoration. Here’s peak of Margaret’s home, but stay tuned to an upcoming issue of Charleston Style & Design<\/a> for a really in-depth look inside the house!<\/p>\n

4. Croghan’s Jewel Box<\/a><\/p>\n

Over a century old, Croghan’s Jewel Box opened when hand-engraver William Croghan\u00a0claimed his place in the Charleston design circuit inside a single house on King Street. Mariana of Croghan’s Jewel Box is a dear friend of Margaret’s. Years ago, MDI had the opportunity to design the upstairs drawing room of Croghan’s, where the jeweler hosts events.<\/p>\n

5. Herlong & Associates<\/a><\/p>\n

Specializing in home design and residential restoration, Herlong & Associates is an architect firm based on Sullivan’s Island. At the TSG event, we learned all about the Kiawah Riverfront Estate that the firm is currently working on.<\/p>\n
