Getting out of town with the girls is always fun, and it was great that we could experience this cool little city together. Here&#8217;s what we loved about the weekend.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Gala<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The MDI team got dolled up to attend the ASID awards gala, where we were surrounded by area interior designers full of innovative ideas and creativity. What&#8217;s not to love about spending a nice evening out in a room full of your Carolina colleagues?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/2014\/09\/5-things-we-loved-about-our-asid-weekend\/10660385_820417084645439_5238570974657261704_n\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2617\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2617\" title=\"10660385_820417084645439_5238570974657261704_n\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/10660385_820417084645439_5238570974657261704_n-500x375-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Proximity Hotel<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since the conference was held at the renowned and beautifully designed Proximity Hotel, that&#8217;s where we stayed and spent most of our time. What makes it so extraordinary is that it&#8217;s LEED (Leadership in Energy &amp; Environmental Design)\u00a0platinum certified, so we felt good about resting our heads in a place that goes to such lengths to be green. National Geographic Traveler has even written about Proximity, saying &#8220;conservation doesn&#8217;t have to mean deprivation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/2014\/09\/5-things-we-loved-about-our-asid-weekend\/exteriornight\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2618\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2618\" title=\"ExteriorNight\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/ExteriorNight-500x345-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"345\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Amenities<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From the nearby Greenway to the pool to the ultra-lush rooms, our time in Greensboro was made perfect by centering the weekend around the Proximity Hotel and all it has to offer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/2014\/09\/5-things-we-loved-about-our-asid-weekend\/proximitycitysuitehigh\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2620\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2620\" title=\"ProximityCitySuiteHIGH\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/ProximityCitySuiteHIGH-500x332-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Print Works Bistro<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since it&#8217;s located inside the Proximity Hotel and it has an incredible reputation, it was a no-brainer to do lunch inside the Print Works Bistro. It was delicious. What&#8217;s better than a design-and-dine kind of break?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/2014\/09\/5-things-we-loved-about-our-asid-weekend\/bistro\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2619\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2619\" title=\"bistro\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/bistro-500x322-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"322\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ASID ideals<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All in all, the weekend was a business success with plenty of leisure mixed in, too. Getting to know like-minded designers under the guidance and ethos of ASID was particularly special.
