This is a subject that we haven&#8217;t touched on lately. We thought we would roll out some of the projects that were photographed back in the spring. \u00a0This ocean front Kiawah project is a recent favorite. Our clients were delightful and their desires for the home were right in line with what we wanted to see in the space. With the home&#8217;s inverted floor plan, the main living area is three stories up, creating a 180 degree view of the ocean!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Now to pick apart the featured image above&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p>We selected a custom shaped sectional to define the sitting area in this open floor plan. \u00a0The sectional is upholstered in an indoor\/outdoor fabric for enhanced durability and clean ability. \u00a0You can&#8217;t beat it for those sandy, wet days. \u00a0For the coloring in the space, we when with variations of grey, beige and yellow. \u00a0The introduction of yellow gives a color that can be carried throughout the design while not overwhelming the space with too much color. \u00a0Custom window treatments in a neutral linen on polished nickel hardware frame each window in the living space. \u00a0On SC beaches, lights out or window treatments drawn during turtle hatching season. \u00a0The baby turtles follow the moonlight out to sea; hence the efforts for house lights to be off to prevent confusion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/2013\/07\/kiawah-interior-design\/mdi-104\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1709\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1709\" title=\"MDI-104\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/MDI-104-1.jpg\" alt=\"Kiawah Interior Design\" width=\"387\" height=\"580\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kiawah interior design often times revolves around family and friends. \u00a0How many people can we sit around the dining room table? \u00a0For this project, we designed a sabre leg dining table that can be expanded to seat ten.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/2013\/07\/kiawah-interior-design\/mdi-103-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1708\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1708\" title=\"MDI-103\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/MDI-103-1.jpg\" alt=\"Kiawah Interior Design\" width=\"580\" height=\"442\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A secondary seating area beside the kitchen repeats the neutrals and yellow. \u00a0This playful fabric adds the personality of our clients to the space. \u00a0The fabric is a bit retro and modern on these clean swivel chairs. \u00a0But the idea of a pair of club chairs is age old. \u00a0The industrial floor lamp and mid century inspired coffee table carry on the juxtaposition of style.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/2013\/07\/kiawah-interior-design\/mdi-110-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1713\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1713\" title=\"MDI-110\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/MDI-110-1.jpg\" alt=\"Kiawah Kitchen Design\" width=\"580\" height=\"443\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A wonderfully bright and streamlined kitchen !<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/2013\/07\/kiawah-interior-design\/mdi-108-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1711\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1711\" title=\"MDI-108\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/MDI-108-1.jpg\" alt=\"Kiawah Island Interior Design\" width=\"580\" height=\"442\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A close up of the living room chairs. \u00a0This clean lined club chair is accentuated by running the stripe horizontally.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/2013\/07\/kiawah-interior-design\/mdi-109-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1712\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1712\" title=\"MDI-109\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/MDI-109-1.jpg\" alt=\"Kiawah Custom Furniture\" width=\"580\" height=\"442\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This custom console table was designed to disguise a necessary evil&#8230;the air intake. \u00a0Its shallow depth keeps it from intruding into the walk space behind the chairs. \u00a0However, it has enough presence to be able to ground an accessory and a piece of art.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/2013\/07\/kiawah-interior-design\/mdi-111-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1714\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1714\" title=\"MDI-111\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/MDI-111-1.jpg\" alt=\"Kiawah Bathroom Design\" width=\"580\" height=\"442\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>No project is complete without a dynamite powder room. \u00a0With the blue based vanity and white quartz top, we selected a soft, geometric wallpaper to warm up the space. \u00a0A glass only mirror was selected to not compete with the other more dominate elements of the bathroom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The anatomy of a project.
