Our orders from the October market are beginning to trickle in. We just opened the one above and a light bulb went off. OWLS! We have been seeing owls everywhere lately.<\/p>\n

The white and black owl vase is for Margaret’s porch. \u00a0Can you think of a better way to bring some seasonality into your porch than to incorporate some “wildlife?” \u00a0Throw some seasonal stems or greenery in there and you’re all set. \u00a0We are all busy enough; don’t overthink it?<\/p>\n

Don’t you just love the pops of sparkle?<\/p><\/div>\n

We are thinking that owls might even become a bit of a classic like the foo dog. \u00a0We can recall seeing them in fashion over the past few years. \u00a0Marc Jacobs had a great collection back in the 2009\/2010 years. \u00a0And now, owls have emerged in the interior design world. \u00a0Margaret has always said that interiors follow fashion. \u00a0Case and point…owls. \u00a0Another of Margaret’s pearls of wisdom is that the European color trends have traditionally hit the US later. \u00a0We learned recently from our Romo rep that as a European company, they bring to the US within a couple of months. \u00a0How very exciting! \u00a0Where were we?<\/p>\n

Last but not least, King Street’s window shopping landscape has welcomed some exciting new neighbors. \u00a0Kate Spade opened up a little while back. \u00a0Lululemon renovated the old Sarah Anne’s this spring. \u00a0(For those of you who didn’t shop for children’s clothes in the 80s and 90s, Sarah Anne’s was the place to get all the sweet fineries.) \u00a0Our J. Crew was bumped up to a more premier status so they, too, revamped the interior of the store and now receive a more unique and exclusive inventory. \u00a0Most recently, Anthropologie brought fresh life to the old Kerrison’s department store building where e happened upon these when we were out and about.<\/p>\n
