This week we will walk you through one of our award-winning homes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our Downtown Dockside condominium was awarded first place for a residence under 3500 square feet. These waterfront condominiums were built in the 1980s and are one of Charleston\u2019s only high-rise buildings. The units provide views of the harbor, downtown Charleston, and the iconic Ravenel Bridge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The owner of this unit wanted to update the functionality and aesthetic of this home to a more upscale and sophisticated look. We chose to stick to a neutral palette of gray and white with dark wood, natural stone, and brass detailing. Sometimes working with such a neutral palette can limit the creativity of the space; however, we were able to layer elements and textures to create a feeling of warmth and elegance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10795 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/margaretdonaldsoninteriors.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/MDI_Wallace2020-37.jpg\" alt=\"Condominium kitchen with neutral waterfall countertop, dark wood cabinets, and brass detailing\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We were challenged with this project as we had <\/span>to work within the boundaries of the existing condominium building.
