Summer is such a beautiful time in Charleston! It gets hot here in the Lowcountry, but there is still so much to enjoy. We put together a list of some of our favorite Charleston summer activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Biking on Kiawah Island<\/i><\/b> is a must! You can bring your own or rent bikes and gear from one of the many local bike shops. With over 30 miles of paved trails and 10 miles of beach on Kiawah Island, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy. Some of our favorite places to see on our ride include the Kiawah Island Nature Center and Night Heron Park, the Marshview observation tower, and of course the beach. After your ride, grab lunch or dinner at one of the restaurants in Freshfields Village.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Biking<\/p>\n

We love <\/span>GOLDEN hour in Charleston <\/i><\/b>(see what we did there?)<\/span>. <\/i><\/b>The sunsets in Charleston are incredible, so you really can\u2019t go wrong any way you choose to enjoy them! Take a blanket out on the beach, visit one of downtown Charleston\u2019s many rooftop bars, or time your nightly walk to enjoy the sunset. One of our favorite ways to view the sunset is from the Ravenel Bridge. There\u2019s just something about being over the water and under a fiery cotton candy sky that can\u2019t be beat!<\/span><\/p>\n

Porch sipping<\/i><\/b> is a great way to experience the coastal weather here in Charleston. Grab a rocking chair, a friend, and a refreshing drink and listen to the sounds of the Lowcountry. We really like <\/span>this tea punch<\/span><\/a> from Reese Witherspoon\u2019s Whiskey in a Teacup!<\/span><\/p>\n

No Lowcountry itinerary would be complete without a <\/span>beach day! <\/i><\/b>Our favorite spots are Beachwalker Park in Kiawah Island, Isle of Palms County Park, and Sullivan\u2019s Island. Charleston\u2019s beaches are lined with marshes, so you can really get a feel for the Lowcountry and the wildlife. Get there early to beat the crowds and the heat! <\/span><\/p>\n

\"Charleston<\/p>\n

The photo ops are endless when you spend a day <\/span>sightseeing in Charleston. <\/i><\/b>Check out the local artists at the City Market and pick up some <\/span>sweetgrass baskets<\/span><\/a>. Then cross off some bucket list items, including the famous Charleston Pineapple Fountain and Rainbow Row. For a little slower pace, walk through the old streets and admire the beautiful homes in the French Quarter, South of Broad, and the Battery. Finally, do some shopping and grab something to eat at one of the many restaurants on King Street!<\/span><\/p>\n
