As a young girl, my affinity for design manifested in a finely crafted dollhouse. I’d wallpaper the tiny rooms with colorful patterns and carefully arrange each space with delicate, wooden pieces of furniture until the house felt like a home. Even though the writing was on the wall from an early age, starting MDI Interior Design was a leap of faith. I was eight months pregnant with my first child and part of a successful design partnership, yet I craved a new adventure driven by my passion for connecting with people and creating happier, more cohesive spaces. I founded MDI Interior Design in my hometown of Charleston, South Carolina with the design philosophy surrounding the notion that creating a beautiful aesthetic is easy, but beauty that aligned with the functionality of a client’s lifestyle is what elevates design.

Prior to launching MDI Interior Design, I earned my degree in Interior Design from the University of Georgia, and achieved my NCIDQ certification. As a professional member of the American Society of Interior Design, I have served in numerous leadership positions and been awarded merits for many projects over the years, including the distinguished Dora Gray Award in 2022 for design excellence and outstanding contribution to the local community and chapter.

I seek inspiration everywhere I go and in everything I do, compiling memories and experiences into a visual catalog that serves my creative process. Traveling and exploring different cultures is particularly influential, as I love sourcing artwork and unique pieces to incorporate into projects. I also enjoy gathering with family and friends at our harbor-front home, a simple cottage built by my husband’s great-grandfather that we’ve filled with special heirlooms.
